Sid is a leader in McKinsey’s Private Capital Practice and insurance work. He works with executives across the insurance, retirement, and investments ecosystem to pursue bold strategies for growth and performance transformation. He has extensively served carriers, brokers, pension funds, asset managers, and financial sponsors across the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.

Examples of Sid’s recent work include:

  • helping a pension fund in a G-20 country design, set up, and launch multiple national defined contribution pension programs
  • supporting a global insurer in conducting a portfolio review across 30 countries, leading to strategic portfolio moves (new market entry, exits)
  • supporting the design of a go-to-market strategy and sales execution for a global insurance broker across several lines and regions
  • advising a North American life carrier on UK market entry with a specific focus on pension risk transfer (PRT), including diligence on specific targets
  • supporting a private capital player in driving a closed-book purchase in Europe, followed by a post-deal carve-out and tech and ops disentanglement
  • conducting a review of the investment management function, including setup, activities, and governance for a multi-line insurer

Before joining McKinsey, Sid worked in investment policy and banking roles and qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).

He received an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he graduated at the top of his class and served on the Dean’s Student Advisory Council. He also has an MPA from Harvard University, where he was a John F. Kennedy Fellow. In addition, he holds a master’s degree in finance and control from the University of Delhi.

Beyond work, Sid has a strong interest in photography, storytelling, and history, and brings them together in creating photography exhibitions that focus on historical monuments and sites off the beaten path.
