Reinaldo is a senior partner at McKinsey. He joined the firm in Brazil in 1999 and has been in Africa since 2004; he was one of the founders of our Lagos office and is a co-leader there today. Reinaldo is passionate about contributing to Africa’s accelerated development and helping major African companies compete on the world stage.

Reinaldo supports clients in various industries, as well as in the public sector, to develop growth strategies and design effective organizations. He also has extensive experience in setting up and implementing multiyear programs to transform institutions’ performances. He has worked with clients across Africa, including Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, and Angola.

A focus of Reinaldo’s work is to support the development of businesses to meet the needs of Africa’s burgeoning consumer market. He co-leads McKinsey’s sub-Saharan Africa Consumer Practice, and has worked with major companies—including fast-moving consumer goods, retail banking, and mobile telecommunications—to shape growth strategies and expand operations in Africa.

Reinaldo helps develop talent and capabilities, both in his clients’ organizations and within McKinsey. He focuses on building high-performing teams that support fast-paced professional development.
