Parimol (Mai) Karnchanachari leads our chemicals work in Southeast Asia and is a partner of our Bangkok office. Mai serves clients in the basic-materials and energy space. She is a thought leader in downstream industrials, particularly renewable and sustainable bio energy. An advocate for environmental sustainability, Mai has led clean-technology initiatives to help Thailand become more sustainable.

With a focus on topics related to strategy and marketing and sales, she helps clients address growth, supply-chain effectiveness, commercial strategy, organizational performance and restructuring. Passionate about lasting impact, Mai regularly leads commercial transformation and capability-building efforts for clients.

She has experience working and living around the world, with recent client projects in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Some examples of her client work include:

  • helping a B2B2C basic-materials client develop a marketing and sales strategy; the project involved developing value proposition for different end-users, retailers, and distributors in Indonesia, defining a channel strategy, identifying and implementing pricing-improvement levers, and analyzing branding management
  • advising a cement company on a 10-year growth strategy, including consumption forecasts at micro markets level and implications on logistics
  • assisting a large conglomerate in developing a strategy for a new eco-industrial park; project scope included prioritizing targeted industries, defining the value proposition for potential tenants, conducting feasibility studies, and defining a marketing and sales roadmap.

Parimol is also the partner sponsor of recruiting for McKinsey in Southeast Asia.

Outside of work, Mai supports a number of charitable organizations, including Thailand’s Royal Project, Thai Red Cross, and causes such as, poverty alleviation, education, and youth social entrepreneurship.
