As a leader of McKinsey’s Operations Practice and advanced industries in Middle East, Africa and Central Asia, Matteo’s operational expertise includes helping his clients drive productivity enhancements, facilitating efficient and digitally empowered transformations, and overseeing supply chain and localization programs.
In recent years, Matteo has assisted over 70 clients worldwide with operational transformations, consistently generating productivity improvements exceeding 20 percent. collaborated with various manufacturers specializing in semiconductors, high-tech, automotive, equipment manufacturing, and aerospace and defense.
Examples of Matteo’s recent client work include the following:
- helping design and support large-scale transformation programs for multinational semiconductor companies, with a focus on boosting labor productivity and reducing material costs
- guiding the development of productivity enhancements for several low-volume, high-complexity manufacturers, including oil rig makers, shipbuilders, and aerospace and defense companies
- mapping global supply chains for optimal cost and resilience, and localizing manufacturing, including feasibility and sizing of green-field plants.
- conducting operations due-diligence programs for consumer and automotive companies, identifying cost-reduction opportunities
In addition to his client-focused role, Matteo initiated the establishment of the Innovation & Learning Center in Singapore. The center not only highlights Industry 4.0 technologies in an authentic production facility but also features in-depth capability-building modules.
Before joining McKinsey, Matteo excelled as a senior consultant at a global consulting firm, specializing in lean and world-class manufacturing projects. His contributions earned three distinct awards for excellence in plant maintenance.
