Leads our work in advanced industries in Southeast Asia, and advises manufacturing and technology companies on a broad range of productivity improvement and cost-optimization programs

Matteo leads our work in advanced industries in Southeast Asia. His areas of operations expertise include productivity improvements, lean and digitally enabled transformations, and cost-optimization programs. In recent years, he has supported operations transformations for more than 50 different clients, often generating more than 20 percent in productivity improvements.

Matteo has worked with a wide range of manufacturers, with a focus on semiconductors, high tech, automotive, equipment manufacturers, and aerospace and defense. Though currently based in Riyadh, he has counseled companies all over the world including in Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, and across Asia.

Examples of Matteo’s recent client work include the following:

  • designing and supporting large-scale transformation programs for multinational semiconductors companies, focusing on increasing labor productivity and material cost reduction
  • developing productivity improvements for several low-volume and high-complexity manufacturers, such as oil rig makers, shipbuilders, and aerospace-and-defense companies
  • employing cost reduction, optimization techniques, and yield improvements using advanced analytics and automation to assist an Asian semiconductor company in improving its performance
  • conducting operations due-diligence programs for consumer and automotive companies to help them identify cost-reduction opportunities

In addition to serving clients, Matteo is a leader who led the setup of the Innovation & Learning Center Singapore, which showcases Industry 4.0 technologies in a real production facility and includes deep capability-building modules.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Matteo was a senior consultant at a global consulting firm, focused on lean and world-class manufacturing projects. This work led to three different awards for plant maintenance.
