Kunal advises clients on strategy, innovation and commercial due diligence, helping to identify and evaluate investment, transformation and growth opportunities in a rapidly evolving technological environment. He carries a specific interest in the responsible adoption of technology, including management of change and risk.
He also leads McKinsey’s Healthcare Practice in Australia, and serves organizations across the healthcare ecosystem. As a former medical doctor, Kunal is driven by a passion for improving outcomes for patients and enabling novel solutions to systemic challenges.
Examples of his recent work include:
- leading commercial due diligences across multiple sectors including consumer, energy, healthcare, logistics and technology. In healthcare, this includes exposure to sub-sectors such as primary care clinics, specialty care clinics, inpatient hospital providers, day hospital providers, diagnostics technology players and HealthTech companies
- assisting financial services institutions in strategy and developing new technology-enabled platforms for their customers
- supporting organizations across sectors in strategy refreshes, particularly in the context of changing external market forces
- helping innovator healthcare and HealthTech companies on several topics, including long-term strategy and equity story development
- evaluating strategic merger and acquisition opportunities for healthcare organizations, including consideration of physical footprint and integration synergies
- helping several public health initiatives, including COVID-19 pandemic response and digital transformations.
Kunal has a medical degree from Monash University and worked in the Victorian public hospital system prior to joining McKinsey. When not working, he enjoys reading, sports, and dabbling in new technology.
