About Khoon Tee

Khoon Tee leads McKinsey Implementation in Asia. He also leads our Operations Practice in Southeast Asia. Over the past decade he has served several leading downstream petroleum companies throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States on topics of strategy, organization, and operations transformation.

For example, Khoon Tee was involved in developing the long-term strategic master plan for a major Asian oil-refining company, including defining the crude-oil supply-chain strategy and the refining projects roadmap. He has also developed international growth strategies for refining and petrochemical companies across the value chain, from manufacturing to logistics and marketing.

Khoon Tee helped design and implement a two-year operations-transformation program across five major refineries of an oil and gas company. He also helped roll out an operations-transformation program across several integrated petrochemicals complexes with more than 20 petrochemicals plants, which delivered annual financial impact of more than $1 billion.

Khoon Tee has supported the development of an operations academy for a national oil company to strengthen the capabilities of its managers and employees. He also has deep expertise in lean operations-improvement methodologies.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Khoon Tee was a Shell Malaysia scholar.
