Helps leaders across the agriculture value chain drive growth and improve performance, and leads our Agriculture Practice in India

About Chandrika

Chandrika leads McKinsey’s Agriculture Practice in India. In this capacity, she helps both local and international companies in the agriculture sector develop their strategies and drive growth for serving the Indian market.

Since joining McKinsey, Chandrika has helped agriculture and food executives optimize performance. Against a backdrop of changing technology and evolving consumer preferences, she drives efforts to pursue strategic growth and address market opportunities. She has offered advisory support across a range of issues, from marketing to supply-chain optimization.

Passionate about finding solutions to pressing problems that require coordination across the public and private sectors, Chandrika recently supported a global nongovernmental organization looking to reduce food waste in India, and she is working with a government to unlock value through digital and advanced analytics.

Examples of her recent client work include the following:

  • heading an initiative to transform sales and marketing for a leading agrochemical company to build a billion-dollar business
  • designing an agricultural-input company’s five-year growth strategy across multiple business units to double earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization
  • creating an Asian-market strategy to help a food-ingredient company double in size in four years
  • overseeing an agriculture-input company’s end-to-end supply-chain-excellence transformation to pursue opportunities in manufacturing, energy, waste, and procurement
  • devising a leadership-development program for the top 30 leaders of an agriculture-input company
  • designing an agriculture financing strategy for a leading bank in India
  • performing a supply-chain diagnostic for a fertilizer company to improve availability and reduce retail inventory

To accelerate the transformation of food and agriculture systems, Chandrika brings together leaders from government, corporations, private-equity firms, and start-ups via round tables and other forums.
