Amit is a partner in McKinsey’s Southern California office and a leader in our healthcare provider work. He focuses on shaping market strategy and accelerating organic growth for health systems, physician organizations, and healthcare investors. In addition to his focus on growth, Amit leads the firm’s service to academic medical centers, helping them navigate their unique strategic and operational challenges and opportunities.
Amit works with healthcare leaders to design and implement strategies that enhance acute and ambulatory growth, build new specialty-care models, and optimize their market footprint and physician alignment. Some of his recent client work includes:
• leading a year-long, multi-market growth program for a regional health system
• standing up a growth transformation for a mid-market ambulatory business
• developing a multi-channel growth strategy for a large primary care practice
• helping an academic physician practice create a partnership structure with a regional health system
• leading a long-term strategic and capital planning process for a regional academic health system to guide ambulatory and acute-care growth
• building a new specialty value-based care platform end to end (go-to-market, operations, tech)
Before joining McKinsey, Amit was a board-certified infectious diseases physician with extensive experience in biomedical research. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in infectious diseases at Yale and has experience providing primary care to HIV patients.
