Overcoming hidden challenges

Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (APIs) have long contributed to the fabric of American society and culture. But despite their remarkable achievements, members of these communities remain largely overlooked and misunderstood at work—and in society more broadly. These invisible challenges are evident in Hollywood, for instance: 80 percent of API consumers feel that their experiences are inadequately portrayed in US media, according to a recent report by McKinsey’s Kabir Ahuja, Michael Chui, and coauthors.
