Advanced Professional Degree Candidates

We encourage you to explore this site for more information about McKinsey and the recruiting process. We hope to meet you on campus to continue the discussion about why we think McKinsey would be the right place for.

You will be considered as a UK Advanced Professional Degree Student if you are currently pursuing a PhD, a Post-Doc or if you hold a Marshall, Rhodes, or Gates Scholarship. If you have already graduated and have worked for more than half a year after finishing your PhD, you will be considered as an experienced hire.

Please note that in UK Master students as well as MDs are not considered APD applicants and will be considered for business analyst positions.

McKinsey London: Get to know us and problem-solve with our Consultants

Are you interested in a what a career in consulting entails? Could you get excited about a career that allows you to solve some of the most complex problems that the world’s businesses, governments, non-governmental organizations, and non-profits face?

If so, then a career with McKinsey could be for you!

McKinsey is hosting an interactive case study workshop in our offices to introduce students that are interested in our Business Analyst and Internship program to the work we do in McKinsey.

Designed and delivered by McKinsey consultants, this event will give you the opportunity to:

  • Learn problem-solving skills that will help you in your academic work, as well as other job applications
  • Be guided through the interview process
  • Network with McKinsey consultants over drinks, and have all your questions about McKinsey in general answered

We hire people from all backgrounds, so if you are motivated for success in your career then we would like to meet you!

This workshop is open to current PhD, Master and Bachelor students graduating up until 2021. Please be aware that you are not eligible for this particular workshop if you are currently studying at a university which we visit in the Autumn. If you are unsure whether we visit your university, please feel free to contact us at UKCampus_Recruiting@mckinsey.com.

Due to limited capacity, we kindly ask that you submit your CV by Monday 3 June.

Opportunities for Advanced Professional Degree Candidates

Many advanced professional degree candidates join us as an associate or junior associate consultants (positions vary based on office and experience). APD candidates may also consider applying for an associate or business analyst internship position depending on degree or work experience, usually for the summer prior to their penultimate year of their program; timing of internships can vary based on your academic schedule. Please note that the London office does not offer internships to APD students.
