Your Impact

You'll join the Costa Rica office and be part of the Corporate and Business Functions (CBF) team of the McKinsey Operations practice.
You will be responsible for blending strategic thinking and advising on developing and defining operational strategies to help our clients around the world solve their most critical problems. Within the Operations practice, service operations is a rapidly growing service line with deep functional expertise implementing holistic transformation of corporate and business functions (e.g., HR, finance, IT, legal) across improvement levers (e.g., demand management, outsourcing and offshoring, global shared services, lean, IT-enablement) to deliver significant and sustainable cost impact.
You will work with McKinsey consulting teams in various CBF engagements to deliver benchmarking analysis/opportunity analysis and highly synthesized insights, client data mapping, process mapping, and process redesigning.
You will be responsible for blending strategic thinking and advising on developing and defining operational strategies to help our clients around the world solve their most critical problems.
In this role, you will provide a unique set of tools and techniques to help clients identify opportunities for improvement and implement new future state of business support functions. You will contribute to building the practice by creating leading edge capabilities for diagnostics of support functions and application of optimization levers like offshoring/outsourcing, centralization of shared services, demand management, automation, application of “lean” principles and organizational redesign. 
Lastly, you will play a key role in building the practice through tech platform updates to CBFLab and tech innovation to deliver CBF studies more effectively and efficiently.

Your qualifications and skills

  • University degree in business administration, engineering, operations, or other related analytical discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant working experience
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills
  • Sound business knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Basics in Python coding and data analytics skills. 
  • Interest in technology and delivery using tech based tools is required
  • Willing to work in a highly demanding and results-oriented team environment
  • Ability to work with and effectively handle a diverse group of team members
  • Exhibit self-motivation and highly service-orientated work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish including the ability to interact effectively at all levels of a large international organization
