Knowledge Analyst - Metals & Mining

Job ID: 103948

You will work at the intersection of industry expertise, cutting-edge analytics, and global collaboration to help solve some of the most pressing challenges in the sector.

  • Shanghai

Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges—the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place.

Your Impact

As a Knowledge Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our clients and consultants across the full metals and mining value chain — from exploration and raw materials to steelmaking, smelting, and circular materials. While your primary focus will be on China, you will also collaborate with colleagues across regions, contributing to global initiatives and knowledge development.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of driving impact in the metals and mining sector. You will conduct in-depth research and analysis on critical topics such as mining operations, steel and nonferrous production, decarbonization, raw material markets, and value chain trends. By developing proprietary perspectives, models, and knowledge assets, you will help advance the firm’s expertise in this dynamic industry, both in China and globally.
You will work closely with consultants and industry experts, providing data-driven insights, benchmarks, and analyses that inform client strategies and decision-making. Your contributions will directly support client engagements, helping to address complex challenges and unlock opportunities across the full metals and mining value chain.
As part of your work, you will also maintain and expand knowledge repositories, databases, and analytical frameworks, ensuring that our teams have access to the latest and most relevant insights. Collaboration will be a key part of your role, as you partner with colleagues across regions to share knowledge, codify best practices, and contribute to the firm’s thought leadership agenda. Additionally, you will play an important role in business development by preparing materials for client proposals, presentations, and workshops.
Over time, you will deepen your expertise in the metals and mining industry, becoming a trusted knowledge professional for both clients and internal stakeholders. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine analytical rigor, industry expertise, and global collaboration to make a meaningful impact in a rapidly evolving sector.

Your Growth

Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues—at all levels—will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won’t find anywhere else.
When you join us, you will have:
  • Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture, backed by structured programs, is all about helping you grow while creating an environment where feedback is clear, actionable, and focused on your development. The real magic happens when you take the input from others to heart and embrace the fast-paced learning experience, owning your journey.
  • A voice that matters: From day one, we value your ideas and contributions. You’ll make a tangible impact by offering innovative ideas and practical solutions, all while upholding our unwavering commitment to ethics and integrity. We not only encourage diverse perspectives, but they are critical in driving us toward the best possible outcomes.
  • Global community: With colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 different nationalities, our firm’s diversity fuels creativity and helps us come up with the best solutions for our clients. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from exceptional colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • World-class benefits: On top of a competitive salary (based on your location, experience, and skills), we provide a comprehensive benefits package to enable holistic well-being for you and your family.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Metallurgy, Mining Engineering, Materials Science, Economics, or related fields
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in metals, mining, or adjacent industrial sectors; prior consulting experience is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of the metals and mining value chain, including exploration, production, refining, recycling, and market economics
  • Familiarity with sustainability and decarbonization topics in metals and mining is a plus
