You will be part of McKinsey’s Ethics and Compliance (E&C) function and will be based in North America/Europe.
The E&C function’s mission is to manage risks to our firm, our clients, and our people, while also enabling our firm’s client impact and innovation. The E&C function is a globally integrated team within the second line of defense of our firm. McKinsey has an E&C program that is structured in a way that ensures that it is well designed, empowered to function effectively, and works in practice. Our E&C program includes a clear message that misconduct is not tolerated as well as policies, procedures, training, monitoring and consequence management to ensure the program is well-integrated into our Firm’s operations and workforce. You will work in the Global Firm Practices pillar, which is responsible for instilling trust that our firm serves clients and communities with integrity and adheres to regulatory requirements.
Your role reports to the Senior Director, Sectors, Capabilities and Assets. You will lead and oversee the Ethics and Compliance programs for our Banking and Insurance Practices, working closely with the client service teams that are engaged in day-to-day client delivery. You will lead a team to drive E&C activities to ensure our firm adheres to all regulatory requirements. You will advise and design sustainable and flexible solutions and processes that will be applied across programs. You will be responsible for building, shaping, and driving robust and comprehensive compliance programs and partnering closely with senior leaders, CSR, Legal, Technology, People and other Risk functions.
You will lead and oversee the development and maintenance of a targeted domain of policies, procedures and practices for identifying, managing and reporting on ethics and compliance risks associated with client service within the Banking and Insurance practices.
You will drive the compliance agenda including the continuous evolution of the programs based on our firm’s risk profile. You will also provide internal visibility to the ever-changing nature of the regulatory landscape and ensure appropriate enhancements to our ongoing programs and activities as needed.
You will support the enhancement of tools, standards, and metrics on compliance matters (e.g., dashboards, systems, testing) and ensure geographic compliance leads have a holistic, integrated understanding of the relevant and specific regulatory areas for their regions and deliver expertise and guidance as needed. You will also provide input on the development of our broader capabilities (e.g., learning, sole sourcing processes, communications, etc.).
As a member of the firm Sectors, Capabilities and Assets Compliance leadership team, you will be expected to be a key contributor and thought leader within the function, in addition to driving key organizational, operational, or strategic initiatives, as relevant.
You will be required to engage in regionally focused initiatives, such as infusing our integrity agenda, under the direction and coordination of our regional E&C leaders, the purpose of which is to raise awareness of and further our firm’s E&C program, and other agreed-upon supporting activities in your region or location.
Collaboration is a key aspect of this role. You will collaborate with a cross-functional and senior stakeholder group (e.g., Client Service Professionals, Legal, Risk, People, Technology, etc.,) across our firm in a timely and efficient manner. You will articulate our regulatory compliance obligations to internal and external stakeholders, serving as an expert advisor to the broader E&C community and other stakeholders (e.g., Client Service Professionals and firm functions).
Finally, you will play a critical role in sustaining and evolving our E&C program and upholding our commitment to integrity and lawful practices.
