Your Impact

You will join a group of communications professionals within the firm’s Reach and Engagement function. 
These colleagues help ensure that appropriate insights reach designated audiences, building awareness and engagement with McKinsey’s distinctive knowledge on a variety of topics. They shape the way the firm connects with people—from clients to employees to alumni—strengthening institutional relationships, connections and affiliations. 
By championing innovative content creation and distribution, you will play a pivotal role in elevating the firm’s public profile and influence both globally and locally. Your expertise will drive the development of engaging digital and social content—including LinkedIn posts, web articles, and videos—that resonates with targeted audiences and amplifies the firm’s thought leadership. In addition to editorial content, you will proactively identify, evaluate, and pilot emerging communication channels—such as podcasts and other digital platforms—to ensure our messaging remains relevant, impactful, fit for purpose and fit for brand. 
In this role your key responsibilities will include:
Content Creation and Publishing Leadership:You will develop and produce compelling content across a range of digital formats, including social media posts (especially for LinkedIn), web articles, newsletters, blogs, and videos, ensuring all materials align with the firm’s voice and visual identity.
You will actively seek out and assess new digital and social platforms—such as podcasts and other innovative channels—to expand the firm’s reach and engagement with diverse audiences.
You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to generate and curate high-impact content that supports strategic communication objectives and advances brand initiatives.
You will oversee the end-to-end publishing process for thought leadership pieces and special projects, maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency in both Japanese and English when required.Digital Engagement and Channel Optimization:You will monitor industry trends and audience behaviors to inform content strategy and channel selection, ensuring communications remain timely and relevant.
You will be responsible to maximize visibility and engagement by tailoring content for specific platforms, leveraging analytics to refine approaches and measure effectiveness.

You will research and recommend new opportunities for speaker engagement, digital events, and cross-channel campaigns to further enhance the firm’s presence and influence within key networks.

Project Management and Execution:You will develop and implement best-in-class communications and strategies across channels such as media, web, and social, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and organizational objectives.
You will Independently lead complex projects and reputation-building initiatives, including publishing activities and managing reputation risks with appropriate coordination.

You will track and analyze key metrics through reports and scorecards, and manage contact databases to maximize outreach, engagement, and program effectiveness.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate digital content creation, including but not limited to copywriting and video creation.
  • Content Creation Expertise: Strong understanding of digital and social media landscape in Japan, with demonstrated track record of channel and audience targeting
  • Digital Analytics: Demonstrated expertise in leveraging digital analytics tools to gather, interpret, and apply data-driven insights for content strategy. Ability to analyze audience behaviors, measure content effectiveness, and optimize messaging to ensure communications are tailored to diverse target groups and maximize engagement.
