Joining McKinsey after my MBA was a natural choice due to my previous experience and love for consulting. The global reach, relevance and the firm’s people culture were key differentials to any firm. Also, as a native of Brazil, it gave me an opportunity to contribute more significantly to and improve the business environment in Brazil while adapting our firm’s global competencies to our local reality.
When I started, my first team was a very special one. What stood out to me most –other than the work we did –was the structure of the team. We were so well organized with our work that we could have unlimited flexibility opportunities –e.g. team dinners once a week to get to know a different restaurant as a group, running challenges to improve our health and, fun fact, we experienced most of this with our clients. Each new team becomes your new family at McKinsey and we look after each other.
I’m proud to be a part of McKinsey in my home country, helping to contribute to the transformative changes we need to improve the business environment.
