After a couple of months of studying toward my master’s degree in finance at Brandeis International Business School, I came across McKinsey’s Go Global international reception in New York. It was exactly what I’d been looking for. I was hoping to find a job in a global organization that would allow me to return to my favorite city and home country: Medellin, Colombia.

At the reception, Brian Rolfes, the head of global recruiting, spoke about the huge benefits of a career at McKinsey: the exposure it offered to the world’s toughest business and societal problems and the joy of working with the best teams, full of unparalleled talent from diverse backgrounds. One of his colleagues shared how she experienced the benefits of global mobility through McKinsey. The firm has a presence in more than 120 cities and 60 countries, yet is committed to its One Firm culture, which promises the best of the firm to clients and colleagues everywhere.
I applied and prepared enthusiastically for recruiting and interviewing. Now I am tremendously excited to return to my country and to work for McKinsey, which will give me the possibility of a successful career with global exposure.
