Welcome! I’m the global leader of Equal at McKinsey, our worldwide network of LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies committed to helping one another succeed, build meaningful connections, and attract exceptional people to our firm. Like all of McKinsey’s affinity networks, Equal is open to all colleagues. I’ve been with McKinsey for nearly two decades and am a senior partner in our Washington, DC office, where I also lead our global Defense Practice.

I was born in Las Vegas and grew up moving across the United States and around the world. Before joining McKinsey, I served as a fighter pilot in the US Air Force. Since joining the firm, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients across sectors, with much of my work focused on the public sector on topics ranging from strategy, organization, and hard core operations. McKinsey has been an extraordinary place for me — a place where the experiences that make each of us different are not just accepted, but valued as essential to how we solve problems and serve our clients.

That has shaped how I think about Equal. For me, Equal is about creating a community where people can be themselves, support one another, and grow — while recognizing that each person’s journey is different, and that being LGBTQ+ or an ally has different implications in different parts of the world. Equal provides peer support to our members, engages with clients, and builds strong ally communities across every region. Members can choose how they participate, including how visible they want to be within the network.

I’m proud of the environment McKinsey has created and of the role Equal plays in strengthening it. We do our best work when our people bring different experiences, perspectives, and courage to the table — and when we create the conditions for others to do the same. I love this Firm and believe you’ll see McKinsey as a place where you can contribute, grow, and belong.
