Michael is the global leader of the McKinsey RTS Turnarounds & Transformations Service Line with distinctive expertise in leading high profile turnarounds. Often serving in interim executive roles, Michael has a proven track record of helping clients improve both overall performance and organizational health. His work includes both private and public sector clients and spans a range of industries including telecommunications, manufacturing, mining, and high tech.
Some of Michael’s recent work includes serving as the Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) for the $2.5B+ turnaround of a NA telecommunications company, driving a $250M transformation for a state-owned public utility, delivering $4B+ in improvement across multiple business units for a leading multinational mining company, and serving as the CTO for a $150M rapid turnaround of a manufacturing and packaging business.
Michael has worked extensively across North America and Australasia. Prior to McKinsey, he held executive leadership positions in health care and travel and logistics start-ups.
Michael received a BA with honors in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar, and a JD from Virginia Law School, where he was a Dean’s Merit Scholar. He is a CFA charterholder.
