I was looking for a global experience

The week before my final round interviews with McKinsey, I was nervous. I was also excited. Throughout the recruiting process, I met countless firm members, been warmly welcomed by everyone and had an increasing sense of belonging.

Born and raised in Toronto, I moved to France at age 17 when I enrolled in the dual degree program between Columbia University and Sciences Po. I wanted a global education, and valued the opportunity to immerse myself in new cultures. Going back to Canada someday was always part of my plan. I loved my time abroad and the personal and intellectual growth I experienced; now I am excited to bringing these lessons home.

I wanted a career that would allow me to extend my international experiences. As a global firm, McKinsey lets me experience diverse business contexts and engage in cultural exchanges with colleagues from around the world, while tackling international problems. McKinsey was the clear choice for me.

As my start date approaches, I am most looking forward to stepping outside my comfort zone and gaining experiences across industries. While my experiences and academic pursuits make me most interested in public sector work, I want to learn by working on diverse engagements. I can’t wait to see what this next chapter brings.
