Brent is a partner in Build by McKinsey, helping organizations design and develop innovative technical solutions that are tied to distinctive business value. He co-leads McKinsey Digital’s software, cloud, and architecture work in North America. He works across industries but focuses primarily on electric and natural-gas utilities as well as financial-services institutions. With more than 15 years of experience in designing technical solutions for a range of businesses, he helps modernize and transform systems and processes to enable competitive advantage and unlock the power of modern digital solutions.

Brent’s recent client work includes the following: 

  • serving as chief technology officer and chief architect for a global energy and financial clients’ digital transformation programs
  • building and deploying new digital engineering teams ranging from a single agile product team to well over 30 product and platform teams
  • assessing and designing technology modernization plans using legacy core technologies and approaches and developing new modern integration and technology roadmaps

Outside of his client work, Brent serves as chairperson of 203 Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that focuses on enabling adult learners to reeducate and return to the workforce, specifically within the nursing field.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Brent served as chief architect for a private equity-backed provider of work management systems for educational institutions, local governments, and utilities. A tech enthusiast, he holds numerous technical, agile, and product management certifications, and speaks often at industry events.
