Yannis is a partner in McKinsey’s Athens office and a leader in the firm’s Banking Practice.
He co-leads McKinsey's global AI-enabled growth work for corporate banks and leads pricing across corporate and retail banking. He also spearheads the development of next-generation front-line and pricing tools helping banks embed advanced analytics & AI into commercial decisions.
Yannis has supported more than 30 banks across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa on growth strategy, pricing transformation, and commercial excellence. Selected examples of his recent client work include:
- deploying advanced analytics models for a leading US regional bank to quantify client potential, identify priority leads, and optimize pricing; integrating insights into CRM tools and delivering market-beating growth
- designing and implementing deposit and treasury pricing optimization programs that increased revenues by ~5 percent while maintaining market share
- identifying “deposits at risk” for a leading European corporate bank using transaction analytics and price-sensitivity models, improving deposit margins by 20–30 basis points while significantly reducing churn
- developing elasticity-based time-deposit pricing models for banks across Southern Europe and Turkey, delivering 8–15 percent volume growth without increasing funding costs
- supporting front-office excellence programs in mid-corporate banking, enabling significantly higher revenue growth per customer versus peers
- leading AI and advanced analytics strategy roadmaps for multiple corporate banks, prioritizing high-value use cases, and establishing analytics centers of excellence
Beyond growth and pricing, Yannis has advised banks, fintechs, and corporates on shaping business strategy and delivering complex transformations, including corporate restructurings, digital & AI transformations, and value-based management.
Yannis was the head of deposits, investments, and affluent banking at Piraeus Bank, and previously served as director of investment banking at Axia Venture Group, focusing on M&A and distressed credit.
Yannis holds BSc and MSc degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
