Teun is the global head of talent at McKinsey, where he leads talent attraction, professional development, mobility, diversity and inclusion, and talent planning on a global scale. Teun also works closely with the global people leader, providing support on all client service talent-related topics.
With over a decade of experience in McKinsey’s people function, Teun has held several leadership roles, including director of staff, chief of staff for Europe, and Europe regional people leader. In these positions, he successfully navigated complex challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and global geopolitical shifts, while reinforcing the firm’s people priorities. He was also instrumental in McKinsey’s people strategy in Europe, driving key initiatives that aligned with the firm’s global vision.
Teun’s McKinsey journey began in 2001 as a consultant in the oil and gas sector. In 2005, he transitioned to the people function as head of people for the Netherlands, later expanding his role to Benelux. In 2010, he moved to Shanghai to serve as people leader for Greater China, overseeing six locations while managing strategy and operations for the region and also serving as chief of staff.
Teun holds a degree in business administration from Nyenrode Business University. Prior to joining McKinsey, he spent six years at Royal Dutch Shell in the Netherlands.
