Michel coleads McKinsey Transformation’s portfolio of digital solutions and specializes in designing and building enterprise-grade software and applying AI to create measurable impact. He brings together deep technology expertise, a strong product and design orientation, and extensive experience leading large-scale agile organizations.
Michel advises organizations on how to harness AI in three areas: transforming how software is designed and built; rewiring domains, processes, and ways of working; and embedding AI directly into software products to create distinctive user experiences and capabilities. He has a particular passion for intuitive product and user-experience design and brings a critical eye to complex problems, constructively challenging assumptions to help teams arrive at better solutions.
A central focus of Michel’s work is Wave, McKinsey’s AI-powered platform for transformation management. He has also helped a large European financial institution establish the transformation infrastructure for a multiyear, enterprise-wide transformation and advised a leading North American institution on the design of its governance and portfolio-management solution for enterprise transformation and continuous improvement.
Michel has worked with McKinsey Solutions since 2007, where he helped launch some of its earliest software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings and established and led its product design and development organization. Today, he coleads a global team of more than 250 product managers, software and cloud engineers, and client success and delivery professionals. Before McKinsey, Michel worked in technology consulting and as an independent adviser, focusing on large-scale program management, particularly in telecommunications and high tech. Outside of work, Michel is an avid musician who plays several instruments and has a passion for sound engineering. Trained in cooking by a two-Michelin-star chef from Belgium, Michel loves to create meals for his family and friends as a way to share his passion for great food.
