Lotte is a partner with over a decade of experience at McKinsey, leading the Life Sciences Practice in the Benelux region with deep expertise in research and development across biotech and pharmaceutical companies. She works with senior leadership teams to enhance R&D performance, sharpen asset strategies, and accelerate the delivery of priority medicines to patients; spanning the full R&D value chain with a focus on development and regulatory submissions. Lotte also serves the broader local life science ecosystem, partnering with biotechs, investors, and hospitals across the region.
Examples of Lotte’s recent client work include the following:
- guiding a leading pharmaceutical company through an end-to-end asset strategy redesign, accelerating clinical development timelines through operational and execution excellence, including the path to regulatory submission
- helping a global biotech improve R&D productivity by redesigning its operating model and embedding AI-enabled tools across key development processes
- supporting a pharmaceutical company in structuring its external innovation approach, identifying, and evaluating partnership and acquisition opportunities to strengthen its pipeline
- advising a life science investor on portfolio strategy within oncology and neurology, translating scientific insight into commercially grounded investment theses
Lotte has a deep passion for oncology and neurology that has shaped her career from the start; she completed her PhD in precision medicine in brain cancer at Erasmus Medical Center before pursuing an MBA, a combination that underpins her ability to connect scientific depth with strategic thinking. Within McKinsey, she leads our submission excellence work and is a core practitioner of the firm’s development excellence services, contributing to thought leadership on R&D productivity, regulatory innovation, and external innovation strategy. Beyond McKinsey, Lotte has been a committed builder of the innovation ecosystem: she served as a board member of the Nationale DenkTank and founded its alumni board, creating a lasting platform for collaboration between science, government, and business.
