Andrew is a leader in McKinsey’s global work in the public sector. He coleads the Aerospace & Defense Practice in the region and brings decades of senior leadership experience—in the military and in industry—to his work.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

  • working with a Western defense organization to evaluate a large-scale transformation program to improve performance on safety, resilience, sustainability, and cost
  • leading programs that match defense organizations with industry partners to enhance collaboration, especially on emerging technologies
  • partnering with a global defense organization to mitigate the financial pressures of growing sustainment costs and platform complexity
  • developing solutions to help a large defense organization continuously renew its capabilities
  • helping organizations of strategic importance operate complex products
  • providing support to a global defense organization to maximize the value of its major procurement and sustainment programs

Before joining McKinsey, Andrew held key leadership roles at three global aerospace and transportation companies. He has also held senior command appointments within the Australian Army, rising to the rank of brigadier. During his military career, he served in combat zones and flew a wide range of aircraft. He is a member of the Order of Australia and a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
