Kemi is a partner based in McKinsey’s Nigeria office, where she leads the firm’s work on economic and human capital development, focusing on sub-Saharan Africa. She advises and supports governments, development partners, and philanthropies on the design and delivery of large-scale and high-impact transformations. Kemi also leads McKinsey’s investment development efforts in the region, working to accelerate investments into key sectors of the economy.
Examples of Kemi’s recent client work include:
- leading transaction facilitation support and technical assistance to a donor program aimed at improving the flow of foreign direct investment to the manufacturing sector in Africa and creating jobs that promote inclusiveness and environmental sustainability
- developing roadmaps to create 13 million jobs for young Africans by 2030 across several value chains
- leading the development of a pan-African battery manufacturing localization strategy, identifying areas of competitiveness and execution pathways
- supporting the development of the Africa renewable energy manufacturing initiative, identifying opportunities to catalyze the growth of green manufacturing industries in Africa in support of low-carbon economic development
Prior to joining McKinsey, Kemi worked as a project manager at a major telecommunications company in Nigeria, where she managed internal communications, cultural integration, and change management on various network outsourcing projects across sub-Saharan Africa. She is fluent in English and Yoruba and is actively involved in community development initiatives in her local area.
