Frazier Family Coalition
Our collaboration
We are collaborating with the Frazier Family Coalition (FFC) to significantly improve access to nutrition and reduce the prevalence of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases across Philadelphia—particularly for its underserved communities—through partnership with the public, private, and social sectors. MHI is focused on creating a business case for cross-sector leaders to invest in health and nutrition initiatives that are scalable, financially sustainable, and enable better health outcomes for residents. This work is part of MHI's focus on advancing health in cities, where we believe that a focus on immediately influenceable interventions at the city-level can add ~20-25 billion years of higher-quality life at a global level.
Through our work with FFC and the Philadelphia Partnership for Nutrition and Health (PPNH), we are helping pilot and scale evidence-based interventions in collaboration with leaders across the private, public, and social sector to address long-standing societal challenges with a focus on access to nutrition and health. FFC was endowed by Ken and Andrea Frazier to improve the lives of the vulnerable residents of Philadelphia through a multifaceted program targeting a reduction in the number of strokes, helping residents receive quality healthcare that is comprehensive, culturally competent, and connected with a wide array of health and wellness services throughout the area.
PPNH is a key program under the FFC umbrella, with a vision to increase access to affordable, healthy food in Philadelphia’s underserved communities and empower residents with the knowledge to lead healthier lives. PPNH – which has grown to a network of more than 20 CEOs and senior executives – brings together private sector enterprises (including payors, providers, life sciences companies, grocers, and tech leaders) with community-based organizations to design solutions for health and nutrition in Philadelphia’s underserved communities.
