Why I chose McKinsey
Having worked in strategy and sales in the steel industry for 6 years, I became interested in the decision-making processes of other industry leaders. I wanted to understand how the best performers solve their business problems, and ultimately be able to advise companies to become more successful. Here at McKinsey, I have had the opportunity to experience a wide variety of industries and topics, from consumer products to financial institutions to the public sector.

The challenging nature of our work makes it more rewarding. We work closely with our clients to find a solution for their situation, but at times, the answers aren’t clearly obvious. However, once we deliver impact for the client, we gain their appreciation and trust as a sound advisor.

During my early days with McKinsey, I had the benefit of working with a tenured teammate who would spend time with me every day to help me better navigate the firm.
