Women on Board

Copenhagen, July 11 to 13, 2019

Dive in and explore more about McKinsey's Operations Practice

In today’s rough seas, companies need strength, agility, and balance to thrive. Could you be passionate about transforming our client’s operations to shape them for success? Join us to learn more – and to train your own skills with stand-up paddling and yoga on the beautiful Danish coast.

Our exclusive 2.5-day workshop will take place at Roedvig near Copenhagen, Denmark. Partners and consultants from McKinsey’s Operations Practice will share insights about their day-to-day work. You will have the unique opportunity to attend workshops tailored to each of our operations service lines, enjoy the wind and waves, and power up your mind and body with lessons in stand-up paddling and yoga.
McKinsey strongly believes in developing outstanding female leaders. We do so every day, both internally and with our clients.

Therefore, we are looking for talented professional women based in Europe who have a background in engineering or business and (first) work experience in the field of operations (manufacturing, product development, service operations, lean services, implementation, capital projects and infrastructure, procurement, supply chain management, advanced analytics, or quality management).

Apply by June 14, 2019!

  • Experience how we ran part of the transformation through a fun group exercise
  • Learn about the impact we achieved and how we improved performance at scale

Product development and procurement

You can’t build it up if you don’t tear it down
  • We’ve all heard the saying about not being able to “see the forest for the trees.” This refers to a situation in which someone is so involved in the details of something, that they don’t see the bigger picture.
  • In this workshop, getting involved in the details is what will actually help you see the bigger picture – but in a structured way, piece by piece!
  • We will tear down and dismantle a product to view all of its individual components.
  • We will use this information to consider, for example, alternative (less costly) parts, potential alternative materials, eliminating or adding certain features.
  • We do this in order to determine where cost savings can be captured and maybe even develop an improved product – bringing the details together again.

Cecilia Martensson

Engagement Manager, Implementation, Gothenburg

"I joined McKinsey Implementation after almost ten years in the industry with the ambition to challenge myself further and to build on the experience I had gathered in driving change. McKinsey Implementation has given me a wide range of opportunities to do exactly that – I am getting to know new industries and work in different geographical and organizational cultures. Above all, McKinsey Implementation lets me focus on what excites me most – helping organizations, teams, and individuals to excel at what they do!

I hope to meet you at our Women Event in Roedvig in July and to hear more about what excites you!"

Arthur Muguet

Associate, Supply Chain Management, Geneva

"I joined McKinsey after participating in one of its recruitment events. It was extremely helpful in providing me with a glimpse into the wealth of resources that the firm has at its disposal to make an impact with clients. It was also a fun and an informal way to connect with consultants and understand what being part of McKinsey truly means. Years later, I am still in contact with some of the people I met during this event, and it was certainly instrumental in getting me to apply and join McKinsey!!"
