Women’s Internship Program Switzerland

Fancy a taste of consulting while learning from your own personal mentor and benefiting from personal communication-skills training at the very same time? Then apply for this exclusive internship program and start with us in Spring or Summer 2025!

With us, your resourcefulness will be required from day one. You will be part of a project team and work directly with clients on exciting tasks that will truly make a difference. But this is not the only experience you will gain. During this exclusive internship, a woman experienced consultant from the Swiss office will be there for you as your personal mentor during your time at McKinsey and give you individual coaching. Furthermore, you will benefit from personal communication-skills training and discover tips and tricks for life not only as a consultant, but also on a personal level. In ten to twelve weeks, you will learn a great deal about consulting and working on a client team and get a strong start on your future career.

Opportunity

Interns at McKinsey experience firsthand how a corporate consultancy firm operates. As a “temporary consultant,” you will be a full-fledged member of this project team during your ten- to 12-week internship program. You will work under real conditions, on site with clients, to devise concrete solutions to actual problems companies are facing today. Your opinion and your initiative will be called on from day one.

After the successful completion of the program, interns may receive a job offer from McKinsey. If you are not in your final semester of your studies, you’ll be given the option to stay in touch with McKinsey via events, personal mentoring, and future networking opportunities for both new graduates and those with minimal career experience.

Training

Effective communication is a critical ingredient for a consultant’s success, regardless of their role. So, as you’re gaining on-the-job experience as a project-team member, you will also receive in-house training from experienced consultants to build your capabilities in top-down communication, storytelling, and presenting with impact.

After this training, you will be able to communicate in a more structured, engaging, and confident manner. This training is only available to interns who submit a successful application by November 30, 2024.

Who should attend?

The program is geared toward students currently enrolled in university who have shown that they can excel not only at university and work, but also beyond.

This opportunity is designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Switzerland to take responsibility and make a real difference. It is aimed at women and is fully transgender and nonbinary inclusive. Do you have excellent academic qualifications, strong analytical and communication skills, and creativity and team spirit? Your field of study is of secondary importance to us—we welcome women from all disciplines.

Anouk Petersen

Anouk is a partner in our Geneva office and is a leader in McKinsey's Global Public Health and Life Science Practices where she works extensively on environmental, social and governance, strategy, organization and operations topics. She is also leading McKinsey’s Social Sector Hub in Europe where she serves global public health companies focused on ensuring global access to vaccines. She is passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion topics - in particular health equity, gender equality and women's empowerment. She has a background in theoretical physics from the EPFL and an MBA from UC Berkeley.

Corina Curschellas

Corina is a partner in McKinsey’s Zurich office and is a leader in the Life Sciences and Strategy & Corporate Finance Practices. She works with companies in the pharmaceutical and broader life sciences industry on portfolio strategies and transactions. Her work includes supporting her clients in setting long-term strategies and reviewing portfolios—from R&D portfolios to overall corporate portfolios—and with resulting acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to joining McKinsey, Corina held a postdoctoral research scientist position in New York. She has a background in food science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.

Erika Stanzl

Erika is a leader in digital and analytics R&D within our Life Sciences Practice. She serves biopharmaceutical companies on various topics, including diagnostics, personalized healthcare, AI, machine learning strategy and implementation for use cases, broader business strategy, and R&D and medical-affairs approaches. Prior to joining McKinsey, Erika founded an oncology biotech company focused on RAS-pathway inhibitors. Before joining McKinsey in 2014, she gained a BA and PhD in chemistry.

Marianne Vieux-Rochas

Marianne is a partner in our Geneva office and leader of our Life Sciences Practice in Europe. She advises leadership teams across a broad range of topics, with a specific focus on commercial strategy, such as Product Launch and Strategy, Marketing, and Access. She is also the lead for our Rare Disease expertise in Europe. She holds a bachelor’s in biology, master’s in genomic and experimental biology and PhD in Life Sciences from the University of Lausanne.
