An exclusive internship program designed for women who want to grow, learn from an experienced team, and create meaningful impact.

More than an internship, Springboard is a launchpad for your future. You’ll join a supportive project team working on real client challenges, receive dedicated coaching and mentorship, and build the skills, confidence, and connections to accelerate your career.

What to expect

Real work, as part of a team
You'll join a project team and contribute to solving real problems companies face today alongside experienced colleagues who guide you and share their approach. You'll take on genuine responsibility at a pace that fits your experience, with regular feedback built in.
A mentor invested in your success
Because growth happens faster when someone believes in your potential, you'll be paired with an experienced woman consultant from our Swiss offices. Your mentor will support you through the experience, provide guidance, and serve as a trusted thought partner as you navigate your personal and professional growth.
Skill building to set you apart
Great ideas only create impact when they’re communicated effectively. In addition to your project work, you’ll participate in an exclusive communication skills training led by an experienced consultant to build your capabilities in top-down communication, storytelling, and presenting with impact. These skills will stay with you long after your internship ends.

Who can apply

Who is the program for

Springboard is designed for ambitious undergraduate and postgraduate women students in Switzerland currently enrolled at a university.

We’re looking for women who have demonstrated excellence—not only in their studies, but also through leadership, initiative, entrepreneurship, athletics, community engagement, or other pursuits outside the classroom. Your field of study is of secondary importance to us—we welcome women from all academic backgrounds.

Springboard is aimed at women and is fully transgender and nonbinary inclusive. It is just one of our many worldwide initiatives aimed at helping individuals get to know McKinsey better.

Eligibility criteria

To be considered for this program, you must:

  • Be based in, or have strong professional or academic ties to Switzerland.
  • Be currently enrolled in a university, studying towards your bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree.
  • Speak English and German or French at C1 level.
  • Be available for a twelve-week internship between April and August 2027 (possible start in April, May, June or July).

  • Resume in English: Include your education and grades, work experience, extracurricular activities, and achievements.
  • Additional documents: Include copies of academic transcripts, starting from high school, and forms of reference letters.
