Be part of a team that helps a nonprofit shape its future.
Solve It is a competition for university students who would like to use their skills to help a nonprofit address current strategic and operational challenges. Participating in this event will give you the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of consulting, meet like-minded peers, and do meaningful work that will have a social impact.

Application

We are no longer accepting applications.

  • Submit a resume that is no longer than two pages. Please upload this in Microsoft Word or PDF format by Sunday February 26, 2023. A cover letter is not required.
  • All applicants will receive an update on the status of their application after the application deadline.
  • If your application is successful, we will divide you into small university-based teams for a case competition.

Case Competition: Saturday April 1, 2023

  • In-person case competition in our London office.
  • Each team will receive an assignment based on a key challenge facing the nonprofit’s leadership.
  • Teams will spend the day coming up with a proposed solution to the challenge, supported by McKinsey consultants.
  • Solutions will be presented to a panel of McKinsey consultants and the nonprofit leaders who will determine the winning team.
  • Each member of the winning team will receive a cash prize of £1000 in addition to a McKinsey mentor to support them for the next six months of their academic and professional journey.
  • We will cover economy or standard class travel expenses for the day.

Who is eligible?

The competition is open to current undergraduate and master’s degree students graduating from one of the universities listed below. Please note that you are not eligible for this competition if you are currently studying for an MBA, PhD, or are enrolled at a university that is not listed.
