You’ll be based in the Budapest office working with clients and the global Orchestro team.
Orchestro is McKinsey’s proprietary Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that accelerates agility, simplifies planning, and enhances enterprise-wide transparency for clients. Orchestro already has 5,000+ users across 3 continents and has some impactful success cases. Orchestro typically creates value for clients by bringing efficiency, automation, and transparency into the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process saving clients up to 50% QBR preparation time, improving client’s Objectives and Key Results (OKR) attainment (~20-30% improvement), and enhancing adoption of agile ways of working.
You will join a cross-functional squad that owns an end-to-end slice of Orchestro, McKinsey’s SaaS platform for enterprise agility, planning, and transparency. Working side-by-side with Product and Design, you’ll translate user problems into elegant technical solutions and help steer the squad’s roadmap.
Day to day you will pair-program with teammates, coding, testing, and releasing Node.js- and react-based features through GitHub Actions pipelines. A “quality-first” mindset means you add unit, integration, and mutation tests as you go, ensuring every change meets our standards for reliability, security, and performance.
You’ll also help evolve our shared platform practices: refining CI/CD workflows, improving Kubernetes deployments, and extending observability so that every squad can ship safely and often.
From day one you are empowered to propose product or technical improvements. Ideas win on merit, not titles. You’ll have a dedicated mentor, clear progression criteria, and regular feedback conversations that map your path toward Senior Engineer.
Beyond the team, you can tap into McKinsey-wide engineering guilds, bootcamps, and a global network of experts. Whether you want to deepen full-stack skills, learn advanced platform engineering, or explore leadership, you’ll find ample resources and support.
