Associate Product Manager - Application Support & Product Innovation

110032

This role is based in Costa Rica.
  • San Jose

You’ll work with McKinsey’s OrgLab team, where you’ll help build and maintain digital products that support better organizational learning, collaboration, and ways of working. The role also involves helping ensure our products remain reliable, secure, responsive to user needs, and continuously improved through practical, incremental enhancements.
In this position, you’ll coordinate coordinate the flow of production issues, bug fixes, minor updates, and security upgrades across product, engineering, QA, support, and business stakeholders.
By conducting user research and other analyses, you’ll help inform product decisions by providing perspectives on product value, usability, and feasibility in support of OKRs. This includes planning and supporting user-driven activities such as pilots, usability assessments, market research, and efforts to identify pain points and opportunities for incremental improvements. Working closely with the Senior Product Manager and Product Manager, you’ll also support backlog management by grooming work items and preparing user stories for development.
Partnering closely with engineering, QA, and support teams, you’ll analyze feature behavior, production issues, bugs, and support requests to help clarify expected outcomes and ensure solutions meet user and business needs. Day to day, collaboration with the delivery team will be key to supporting the product vision, driving the timely resolution of production issues, and translating bugs, support needs, and enhancement requests into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, tickets, and product documentation.
You will also support sprint and release planning activities, including release notes, change logs, post-release validation, and the delivery of materials that support the firm’s, clients’, and overall risk governance processes. This includes contributing to security-upgrade planning, managing dependencies, tracking timelines and risks, and supporting release readiness.

Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues—at all levels—will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won’t find anywhere else.
When you join us, you will have:

We not only encourage diverse perspectives, but they are critical in driving us toward the best possible outcomes.
  • Global community: With colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 different nationalities, our firm’s diversity fuels creativity and helps us come up with the best solutions for our clients.
