What You'll Do

You’ll work in small, client-facing teams as a dedicated consultant for People & Organization Performance (POP) practice.  
You will lead the Org portion of a client engagement, where you will facilitate sustainable and large-scale organizational change at clients. You will apply a broad range of creative problem-solving skills, combining technical and analytical excellence to help solve your piece of the overall client puzzle, and you'll synthesize conclusions into recommendations and work directly with senior client leaders to implement change. 
You will manage and execute all project requirements, which include analyzing business and organizational shortcomings of clients; preparing weekly reports on status of outstanding matters, and you'll plan the implementation of Solutions and formulating hypotheses and analyses in order to provide recommendations. 
Additionally, you will also lead the deployment of Org solutions (tech-based Org solutions) and approaches in the context of major organizational restructuring, change management, culture transformation, or leadership development and will develop into go-to organizational experts within McKinsey. 
You will manage data collection, administration, analysis, and synthesis of data from proprietary McKinsey diagnostics, and you'll produce client-ready presentations, reports, and workshop materials. In addition to that, you will contextualize org concepts to enable client understanding of general concepts within their specific organizational contexts. 
Furthermore, you'll collaborate with leaders to set the overall aspirations for the People & Organization Performance (POP) practice and the region, and shape and execute initiatives that drive implementation, including identification of new market opportunities. You'll also be responsible for driving the development and execution of client work related to our People & Organization Performance (POP) practice service lines. 
You will also have the opportunity to be an inspiring people leader who will apprentice and mentor colleagues. You will contribute to and build knowledge that enables us to continuously improve our client delivery and be at the forefront of Org topics. 
This is a partner electable track at McKinsey. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; advanced graduate degree (e.g., MBA, PhD, etc.) or equivalent work experience are preferred 
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic HR Consulting, organizational change strategy, or employee engagement strategy 
  • Strong subject-matter in at least 1 of our service lines 
  • Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels 
  • Exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills 
  • Flexibility to travel 
  • Fluent in Japanese and English
