Back to McKinsey Women Blog

Welcome to my blog

Having fun in Istanbul

– Hi everyone, and welcome to my blog! I've actually always wanted to have a blog, so I'm really excited to join my fellow women colleagues on this platform and hope that you enjoy hearing about my life in Kyiv. For my first entry, I'll share a little more about myself.

I joined McKinsey in 2016 as a business analyst. While I have what may be considered a “typical” McKinsey background, with a degree in international finance and, corporate finance consulting experience, it is not what led me to McKinsey.

I've always enjoyed challenging myself and trying to improve the world around me. When I was a student, I was very active in both amateur theater productions and student competitions (as a participant and then later as a mentor)—as my personal contribution to changing the world. McKinsey caught my attention because it seemed like a great opportunity to change the world on a professional level. I attended a recruitment event, talked to several McKinsey people, and learned about how McKinsey teams create impact at every step of their projects. I was most impressed with a turnaround strategy: a McKinsey team managed to increase the client company's position from the bottom quartile to best in the industry in two years. I excitedly realized that this was the right place for me and applied...and here I am today.

I've now been at the firm for a year and have enjoyed a wide variety of projects. I look forward to sharing updates with you and representing our Kyiv office on this blog.
