Trips to Rome and Taiwan, and a half marathon in between!

Hi everyone,

I hope those of you in the northern hemisphere are enjoying the end of summer! I’ve been busy and wanted to share some of my latest work highlights.

After my wedding, I flew to Rome to run a contracting for performance workshop for an Italian client. The client had all of their key players from legal, policy, procurement, etc. in Rome at the same time, so we did a full day workshop for them. The travel was long for such a short trip, but it was so cool to be in Rome, and I loved seeing our office there, which is beautiful (check out my crooked selfie in front of the office). The workshop also tied in nicely with the contracting for performance white paper we published (I wrote about it here).

Running the Chicago half marathon

I flew back from Rome on a Saturday morning, and the next day I ran the Chicago half marathon. This is not the best strategy for running a long race, so not surprisingly, I didn’t beat my time from last year! But on the plus side, I ran with my husband, which made the race a lot more fun than the prior year (when he cheered me on from the sidelines). I’m planning to do a lot of training so that I do better in the fall half marathon.

I also kicked off another engagement that is worth mentioning. It’s with a client in Taiwan for whom we are doing a negotiation booster. Each evening I’m spending a few hours on the phone or videoconference with the team in Taiwan to go over the materials and hash out what the client’s negotiation strategy should be, how to communicate it, how to help them with role plays, etc. When I share my next update, I will let you know about my trip to meet the client and team in person in Taiwan.

Cheers,
Britta
