Supports clients in developing and delivering sustainability-related strategies, with a focus on corporate climate strategy, agriculture, carbon markets, and carbon removals

Peter is a partner with our Dublin office. He helps ambitious leaders across public, private, and social sectors to deliver action on climate change.

He takes a holistic approach to climate strategy, helping clients formulate plans that maximize positive outcomes for all stakeholders and works closely with them to guarantee that the strategy turns into action. He assists clients in establishing climate strategies that maximize impact while ensuring the strategy is effectively executed along each step of the process.

Peter coleads our work on carbon markets and carbon removals. He is particularly focused on supporting those looking to invest in or to scale high-integrity supply. He frequently shares his insights on these topics through publishing with McKinsey Quarterly and in collaboration with the World Economic Forum.

Examples of Peter’s recent client work include the following:

  • developing national climate plans that specified the target-emissions reduction pathway and range of actions required for delivery
  • developing sustainability strategies for multiple companies in hard-to-abate sectors, including defining public commitments such as reaching zero emissions by 2040, developing required business cases to meet commitments, and detailing the implementation structure required to support delivery
  • supporting the scale-up of new businesses targeting the opportunities arising from the net-zero transition
  • developing roadmaps to scale carbon markets and carbon removals globally
