Our unified price, promotion and markdown optimization applications are featured in Gartner 2018 market guide

Periscope by McKinsey, a suite of solutions focusing on price, promotion, assortment, sales and marketing optimization to achieve sustainable revenue growth, today announced that it has been listed as a Representative Vendor in Gartner’s “Market Guide for Unified Price, Promotion and Markdown Optimization Applications, 2018.” Periscope is one of only seven vendors listed in the report who cover all of Gartner’s five critical capabilities for Retail Price Optimization Solutions (i.e. Competitive and Market Analysis, Initial, Regular, Promotional and Markdown Price Optimization).

According to the Gartner report, “Retailers operate in a dynamic marketplace where online price changes happen in real time, effectively leaving them unable to compete using traditional approaches for pricing in store… The vigorous nature of consumer pricing will express itself as contextualized pricing in real time,” however, “Unified price, promotion and markdown optimization (UPPMO) will move into the Plateau of Productivity in the next two years without resolving the dilemma of real-time pricing.”
