Jean-Claude is a partner in McKinsey’s Johannesburg office and leads the firm’s Core Technology Practice across Africa. He advises clients on end-to-end digital transformations—building and scaling digital businesses, modernizing technology architecture, and capturing full commercial value.

With 20 years of experience, Jean-Claude brings a rare ability to bridge strategy, design, build, and execution. While he focuses primarily on financial services, his work spans industries that include consumer goods, private equity, telecommunications, and technology services. He has supported institutions and governments across Africa, Northern Europe, and the United States.

Recent examples of his work include:

  • designing and implementing an AI-enabled technology automation roadmap for a leading African bank
  • building and launching a greenfield digital investment platform for a top Eastern European financial institution
  • supporting a leading global NGO in building a tech-enabled microfinance lending platform aimed at radically reducing the cost of credit for underserved communities
  • leading a complete refresh of the tech strategy for a pan-African insurer and developing a holistic modernization plan across business units
  • leading enterprise architecture modernization across multiple markets for a major Middle Eastern bank

An agile evangelist, Jean-Claude helps organizations embed next-generation operating models to accelerate innovation and delivery. He has also led significant IT cost-reduction efforts across sectors, helping clients unlock value through technology simplification and efficiency.

Before joining McKinsey in 2015, Jean-Claude worked as a derivatives trader, developing automated trading systems—experience that underpins his deep technical fluency and commercial edge.

He is a trusted advisor to C-suite leaders and boards, helping them reimagine their businesses through technology and deliver lasting impact at scale.
