Francois applies 20 years’ experience to develop strategies and improve the operations of energy and industrial-goods companies. He is particularly focused on partnering with CEOs, business-unit leaders, and boards to drive enterprise-wide transformations.

Examples of Francois’s recent client work include the following:

  • turning around a distressed integrated oil and gas company facing bankruptcy, delivering a multibillion-dollar improvement in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), and getting access to new financing
  • turning around a private-equity-backed company, and delivering 15 percent EBITDA improvement
  • transforming the upstream business of an international oil company, leading to an annual multibillion-dollar cost reduction
  • creating and implementing the corporate strategy of a major oilfield-services company
  • improving US-asset-retirement and site-remediation operations for a major international oil company, leading to an annual $200 million cost reduction
  • improving drilling and completion operations for an unconventional business unit, leading to a 15 percent reduction in total well cost

Before entering consulting, Francois worked at a multinational oil and gas corporation in various positions spanning engineering, large capital projects, and operations. He is an advisory board member to the Catholic Charities of Galveston in Houston.
