Empowering excellence through education

Since its inception in 2009, nonprofit The Amos Bursary has been dedicated to supporting talented young individuals of African and Caribbean heritage in Britain's state schools, helping them achieve academic success, secure top university placements, and obtain fulfilling careers.

A significant surge in donations in 2020 provided the necessary funding to sustain operations until 2024. However, The Amos Bursary's leadership understood that a more robust financial model was essential for long-term sustainability. Against the backdrop of evolving educational and career landscapes, the nonprofit saw the need to strengthen its financial foundation to continue supporting students in fulfilling their full potential.

To achieve this, McKinsey supported The Amos Bursary to develop a more effective corporate partnerships strategy, establishing a reliable funding pipeline that would enable the organization to continue supporting students and driving meaningful change.

McKinsey’s London office has proudly worked with The Amos Bursary since 2020, in a partnership that has been hugely meaningful to our London colleagues. Working with one of the most prominent organisations in the UK has been a real privilege.
