About Yves

Working with McKinsey’s merger-management group in Europe and the Middle East, Yves helps executives protect and enhance value during and beyond the transaction. Since joining McKinsey, he has advised on more than 25 mergers across a variety of industries, with an emphasis on chemical and basic-materials companies.

Yves advises leaders as they pursue a broad range of mergers and transactions, from guiding carve-outs to setting new operating models for the combined organization. Throughout the process, he focuses on helping executives guide culture transformation and actively manage talent. He has deep expertise on the future of work, including how emerging technologies will transform the nature of work and the workplace itself. Beyond Yves’s work with chemical and basic-materials companies, his portfolio includes transformations of pharmaceutical, construction, and retail companies.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

  • managing the merger of two chemical companies to form a leading global company, with work that included defining the architecture of the integration-management office responsible for setting workstreams and overall governance
  • leading the merger of four internal business units of a global specialty chemical company to form a single business unit with streamlined support functions, while maintaining a focus on innovation and operational excellence
  • orchestrating the merger of two global pharmaceutical companies, focusing on carving out assets, building an integration office, identifying areas for value capture, and determining the newly formed company’s operating model
  • carving out assets to form a global construction enterprise, with work that included defining the new company’s identity and its relationship to the operating companies

Yves volunteers as a board member for a Belgian organization that brings together approximately 200 young professionals around business, political, cultural, and other societal issues.

Before joining McKinsey, Yves served at a government embassy and worked for a Belgian chemical and floor-covering enterprise in Asia. He is fluent in Dutch, English, and French.
