About Ted

Ted joined McKinsey more than 10 years ago as an experienced hire in our Operations Practice with a background in pharmaceutical development and operations. He serves pharmaceutical and medical-device companies and regulators across a broad set of strategic and business issues with a focus on operations, operations strategy, quality, and regulation.

He is a thought leader in the pharmaceutical and medical-device industries with numerous published articles and speaking engagements at leading conferences.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

  • developing and implementing product- and service-business strategies
  • developing operations and manufacturing network strategy
  • working on operational-excellence programs across multisite manufacturing networks and quality and regulatory, R&D, and engineering areas
  • working with corporate quality-improvement programs that have yielded more than $500 million in net benefits
  • assisting pharmaceutical and medical-products companies with remediation efforts, including warning letters and consent decrees
  • helping a major medical-device firm determine root causes of quality failures and key corrective actions to enhance product quality substantially
  • working on key strategy and operational-performance initiatives related to product quality, safety, and approvals with a large regulator

Ted regularly convenes roundtables between industries and regulators across the medical-device and pharmaceutical fields. He is married with two children and enjoys spending his spare time with his family, working on his cars, motorcycles, and boats, hiking, saltwater fishing, and skiing.
