About Seema

Since joining McKinsey, Seema has dedicated most of her time to the Healthcare Systems & Services Practice. She has served public- and private-payer and -provider clients on a range of issues related to value-based payment and care-delivery innovation. She currently coleads the firm’s knowledge- and capability-development efforts on social determinants of health.

Examples of her recent client work include the following:

  • developing an analytic capability to inform a client’s strategy on social determinants of health and community partnerships
  • identifying drivers of and interventions to reduce avoidable emergency department use
  • evaluating and sizing an opportunity for a client to launch a chronic-care-management solution, including concept design and go-to-market strategy
  • developing a digitally enabled primary-care strategy for a Canadian healthcare provider
  • redesigning a Medicare clinical-care model for a private payer to address the full range of patients’ clinical and social needs
  • supporting deal negotiations between a hospital system and a vendor to provide analytic and IT support for an accountable-care organization

Prior to joining McKinsey, Seema spent several years working with a range of stakeholders as a community health worker and researcher in the areas of immigrant, refugee, and maternal health; cancer prevention; and school-based mental health.
