About Raúl

Raúl has spent his consulting career advising oil and gas companies in Europe, Latin America, and North America. His experience has encompassed dozens of projects across a wide range of areas, including operations, capital projects, portfolio management, technology and digitalization, and human resources.

Raúl’s clients include national and international oil companies and service companies. His major area of focus within the oil and gas sector has been upstream.

Before rejoining McKinsey, Raúl was the managing director for Accenture Strategy Energy Latin America—which was created as a result of the acquisition of Schlumberger Business Consulting—where he was the head of Mexico and Andean countries. In these roles, he was responsible for firm management in addition to his client advisory responsibilities.

Raúl has published several oil and gas industry thought-leadership pieces in Petroleum Economist and Forbes. He has also given keynote addresses and served as a panelist in multiple international conferences.

Raúl has authored ten scientific articles, including two published in the journal Nature. He has engaged in multiple academic endeavors at Oxford University, University of Warwick, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, and Tecnológico de Monterrey.
