About Raphael

Raphael works alongside client leaders to implement pragmatic business solutions that result in major savings. With firsthand experience in the nuances of operational transformation—especially changing frontline behaviors—he helps clients implement major initiatives in a range of process-intensive sectors, including banking, mining, and basic materials. He is an experienced coach, capable of influencing effectively at all levels of an organisation, and he brings strategic thinking and energy to challenge and inspire his clients.

His recent work includes:

  • managing the implementation of a new shared-service model for one of the world’s largest banks, resulting in a 10 to 20 percent reduction in spending for key divisions and a sustained change in work practices
  • leading client managers, supervisors, and frontline operators at a top global mining company as they drove an effort to reduce external spending
  • partnering with the chief procurement officer of a leading aluminum producer to deliver significant and tangible procurement savings via a more entrepreneurial approach

Before joining McKinsey, Raphael was a senior executive at a leading cable-TV company, where he was responsible for go-to-market strategy and consumer insights. He has also served in operational roles in the airline industry. He began his career as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group in Europe.
