About Raman

Raman is a leader in the Aerospace & Defense Practice and has more than 18 years of experience in the commercial aerospace, defense, and aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul industry. He leads McKinsey’s aerospace aftermarket work and specializes in growth strategy, cost and operational improvements, digital transformations, and helping clients build the capabilities to maximize growth and profitability. Raman is also a leader of McKinsey’s commercial aerospace work.

Raman serves aerospace and defense companies across the entire value chain, including private equity investors seeking to invest in the aerospace industry or owning portfolio companies. His work spans across the industry spectrum—from large OEMs to small independents and technology start-ups. He also focuses on assisting clients in addressing inefficiencies and (re)capturing value in sourcing highly engineered products.

Raman’s recent work reflects addressing strategic and operational challenges faced by aerospace companies in accelerating growth and profitability. He recently supported the senior leadership of an aerospace company in establishing a strategic approach, infrastructure, and advanced-analytics capabilities to significantly accelerate services growth. In another instance, he assisted the business leaders of an aerospace company expand margins and increase the productivity of long-term services contracts while lowering risks.

Raman is a frequent speaker at industry forums, including Aviation Forum, Capital Roundtable conferences, and Aviation Week’s MRO Americas and MRO Europe.
