Peter Berg is the Director of Knowledge for McKinsey’s global Paper & Forest Products Practice. In that role he organizes and coordinates industry-specific support for McKinsey’s project teams around the world and advises teams and clients on the industry.
Peter works broadly across the sector, primarily on strategy-related topics such as helping companies respond to shifts in supply and demand and understand how government policy changes effect the industry. He also has experience in operational improvement programs and approaches. His current particular interest concerns climate change, bio-energy, and bio-fuels connected to the forest products industry.
Peter joined the Stockholm office of McKinsey as a generalist consultant and project manager and worked with companies in several sectors, including telecom, transportation, and energy, before focusing exclusively on the forest products industry.
He is a contributor and key advisor on forest products knowledge initiatives undertaken by McKinsey, and he regularly presents McKinsey’s view on the forest products industry at industry conferences.
