About Melvina

Melvina leads the firm’s work in IT modernization and value assurance in the Middle East for Digital McKinsey. She brings extensive experience in driving an organization’s vision and delivering complex, multifaceted technology projects to deliver impact on time and within budget. Melvina has strategic leadership and tactical expertise in turning around and effectively managing IT organizations.

Examples of her recent client work include the following:

  • delivering an IT-modernization program for a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) bank to enable its digital strategy
  • designing and delivering a major transformation program—including the deployment of a human-capital-management shared-services platform across 50 ministries and the move to a digitized environment, which achieved a 40 percent improvement in all key HR processes—for a GCC country across its public-sector civilian ministries
  • advising multiple public-sector agencies in the GCC on issues such as digitization, cloud, mobility, and citizen engagements
  • articulating the vision and directing a program for a major US federal civilian agency to enable cross-agency constituent and citizen interactions on its operating platform that supports mission-critical applications
  • engaging with a leading private-equity/venture-capital firm to direct and deploy an integrated best-of-breed e-fulfilment platform for a portfolio company focused on providing e-fulfilment services for brick-and-click customers, with delivery of the project in a record nine months at a cost of $80 million
  • engaging with a major multifranchise retailer to support its digital transformation and reconfigure its current systems to deliver enhanced customer centricity and efficiency

Prior to joining McKinsey, Melvina worked with several leading technology companies delivering and managing large change programs associated with the implementation of IT systems, including enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, e-commerce, and data warehousing. She was also the chief information officer of a multibillion-dollar, cross-industry family business.

Melvina is a member of the engineering industry advisory council at New York University Abu Dhabi. She is fluent in Arabic and English and has a working knowledge of French.
